Three Bridges

Canoeing & Kayaking

At Three Bridges we believe that experiential and adventure learning is a necessary part of childhood.  Learning how to manage risk, push your boundaries and build your confidence is as important as learning to read and write.

As part of our PE provision and aligned with our values of Adventure and Joy, children in years 3 and 5 get a term of Canoeing & Kayaking on a Tuesday or Thursday afternoon.  This provision is supervised by First Aid trained staff at Three Bridges and led by trained and experienced instructors from The Sharks Kayak Club of Ealing.

Ofsted said: "The curriculum is frequently reviewed to ensure it has maximum impact on pupils’ learning. There are many additional activities to increase pupils’ life experiences. Additional funding for sport enables pupils to take part in a variety of activities, including canoeing and exploring in the ‘forest school’."

"Pupils are kept safe and know how to stay safe. For example, they learn about water safety when canoeing on the canal and have the confidence to get back into the canoe safely when they fall out."
